Tachograph for trucks

A tachograph is a device designed to monitor the speed and distance of a vehicle, the driver's work and rest time. This device combines the functions of a clock and a speedometer.

Currently, according to the legislation of Ukraine, a tachograph for freight transport is a mandatory device.

To ensure road safety, a tachograph for trucks is used, which helps track: how the driver behaved on the road (was there a mandatory break). After all, every driver knows that the time of continuous driving should not be more than 9 hours, and if the driver is transporting dangerous or bulky cargo, then 8 hours. Rest should be at least 10 hours.

There are two types of tachographs, analog and digital.

An analog tachograph uses a special disc, and a digital one uses universal tachograph paper. An appropriate check of such a device must be carried out during installation, in case of repair or replacement, but necessarily once every two years. Also, a check in the tacho service will be carried out if damage to the device itself or seals has occurred.

The information read from the tachograph must be stored for at least one year after the last recording. Protocols and certificates of all inspections are kept together with it. Also, the device has a cryptographic protection tool built into the device to avoid forgery of entries in the device.
